Zoe McLean – General Manager

Zoe is a Mountain Leader, DofE Accredited Assessor and a member of the Brecon Beacons Assessor Network.

She is also the General Manager at A to Z Expeditions and is responsible for overseeing the business. In between the paperwork, Zoe still finds time to work on a number of our expeditions and training days.

What does Zoe say about her expedition experiences?

What is the most memorable expedition that you have been on?
Trekking to see the mountain Gorillas in Rwanda and finding myself just a couple of feet away from a giant Silverback.

If you were doing your Gold Expedition this year where would you go?
The Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Long quiet ridges and green valleys – what more could you want.

What is the one luxury item that you always take with you on an expedition?
A good book, and my head torch so I can read in my tent.

“We started the company in 2007 and have delivered tailored DofE expeditions for schools and youth groups as well as open expeditions for small groups and individuals, ever since. Thinking back, there were two main reasons for starting the business. Firstly, I am a big supporter of DofE and the idea of proactively working to promote the award really grabbed me.
