Gold Expeditions

In order to complete any of our Gold Expeditions you first need to complete a programme of training followed by sufficient practice expeditions to hone your skills. Once you have completed all of your training you then need to plan and undertake a 4 day qualifying expedition.

“Taster” Walking Expedition
Thinking of doing your Gold DofE Award? Unsure what the expedition section might involve or if it’s for you?

If you haven’t completed the Silver Award or if you’re not sure you’re ready for Gold expeditions, this Taster has been designed specifically for you.

In order to complete the Gold Expedition section you first need to complete a programme of training followed by sufficient practice expeditions to hone your skills and a final assessment.  Whilst this Taster expedition does not count as a full Gold Practice, it is an excellent introduction into the practical and personal skills you will need to successfully go for Gold.

Join our experienced and friendly instructors in the Peak District for a 3 day expedition. We will take you from tricky, Silver terrain on day 1 through to more remote, Gold wild country on day 3. By the end, you will have a good insight into the training, environment, challenge level and requirements of a Gold expedition programme.
