Matt Reid

Matt is an experienced freelance instructor, DofE accredited assessor and Mountain Leader.

Matt has worked in the outdoors since the early 90's working in centres from North Cornwall to Derbyshire. He also leads month long overseas expeditions to developing world countries.

As a qualified Mountain leader and Canoe Coach Matt is at his happiest when in the hills or paddling down a river.

Here are Matt's answers to our expedition questions:

What is the most memorable expedition that you have been on?

My Expedition to Patagonia in Chile, As I was living next to the Northern Patagonian Ice Cap for 3 months and in a community for another 3 months.

If you were doing your Gold Expedition this year where would you go?

It would have to be a Great Glen Canoe Expedition. Paddling from Fort William to Inverness.

What is the one luxury item that you always take with you on an expedition?

Dry Socks. Nothing better than getting into your tent after a long day and putting on Warm dry socks.
